Lately, my skin seems to have been quite confused. It doesn’t appear to be able to come to terms with being what is commonly accepted as normal so keeps flitting between an oil slick and a dry desert. If you follow me on twitter (@spread_sparkle) or Instagram (spreadthesparkle), you will know that I took matters into my own fair hands this week and purchased this little beauty …
Soap and Glory’s ‘The Fab Pore 2-EN-1 Masque and Peeling’ (£10) is a deep cleansing facial treatment that can be used once a week for maintenance, or up to three times a week to battle breakouts-perfect! If you’re wanting to just liven up tired skin, stick this on for five minutes and hey presto, you’re looking lively. If, like me at the moment, your skin needs a serious service, smother this all over your face (focusing on massaging your problem areas in particular) and leave it on for a good fifteen minutes. Make a cup of tea, pop your feet up and let the mask do the hard work.
The mask itself contains super fruit Yuzu, and a blend of lactic and salicylic acids to gently strip pore-clogging matter away, without leaving your face feeling dry and tight. The great thing with this face mask is that it also contains teeny tiny rice microbeads which exfoliate away dead skin cells as you rub this into your pretty face. To me, it smells delicious. A sort of minty, fruity blend that gave me an enjoyable tingly, cooling sensation as I applied it.
Unfortunately, as I relaxed with my face mask and cup of tea, my boyfriend walked in kind of destroying my ‘air of mystery’. However, with my silky soft skin which now has noticeably less blemishes, I don’t hear him complaining! The fresh feeling the mint gives lasts for a while after removing it, which is really satisfying and makes me think it would serve well as a 5 minute ‘wake me up’ hit in the morning too. My skin felt refreshed, my spots were truly targeted and my face wasn’t stripped of moisture. For me, this is a hit and something I will definitely be incorporating into my weekly routine. Only next time, I’ll make sure I’m alone!
