There are many ‘cult’ products that have earned themselves a permanent place in my beauty stash; Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish, Charlotte Tilbury’s Bronze And Glow Palette, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and of course, NARS’ Orgasm Blush. There’s a reason these products are present in the make up bags and on bathroom shelves of beauty lovers the world over; their quality is second to none, they can be relied upon and most importantly, they do the job and do it well. When I discovered that my beloved NARS Orgasm was being released in a limited edition set* featuring the blush powder, liquid highlight and versatile multiple, the make up addict in me jumped for joy. And when the lovely ladies over at ASOS beauty sent one my way it was like all of my birthdays had come at once.
NARS Orgasm Blush
Ok, let’s just get this out of the way. The name of this is enough to make you blush in it’s own right. Names aside though, this has been a holy grail of mine for as long as I can remember. Since its release in 1999, Orgasm has been bringing a healthy glow to the cheeks of make up lovers all over the globe and its popularity shows no signs of fading. The peachy pink powder adds a flirty flush and a hint of sexy shimmer that looks stunning on pretty much any skin tone. A light application to the apples of the cheeks leaves the most wonderful wash of colour…it is crazily pigmented though so be sure to go in with a light hand to avoid looking like Lily Savage (unless that’s your thing – no judgements here!) I find one light dip into the pan then tapping off the excess is enough for my pale complexion. The heavenly glow and long lasting formula have quite rightly made this a make up bag essential for the masses.
NARS Orgasm Liquid Illuminator
The liquid highlighters from NARS are designed to give you ‘a glow from within’; you can apply under foundation, mix it in with your base product to add luminosity, or just dab on top to the specific points the light would naturally fall on your face (tops of cheek bones, down the ridge of the nose, under the brows and on the cupids bow). Again, it comes in the peachy pink shade we all know and love with a subtle golden sheen running through it. Definitely not as pigmented as the blush, but you can easily layer this up to the intensity that you desire. The formula is easy to blend, doesn’t leave the skin feeling tacky at all and in fact, feels quite refreshing to apply. Because of the warm tones to this highlight, it looks especially good with a tan making it ideal for summer strobing.
NARS Orgasm Multiple
I have a confession to make…I’ve never tried a NARS Multiple stick before this. I know, and I call myself a beauty blogger. The ‘Multiple’ range is a beautiful collection of hybrid products that can be used on the cheeks, eyes, lips and even your body. The creamy, blendable texture of these make them a dream to use and after playing around with mine (and much trial and error), I’ve found the best way to apply it is with my fingers. The warmth melts it into the skin and you don’t run the risk of going in too heavy which is easily done by swatching the stick straight onto the face. It gives that dewy finish we are all chasing at this time of year and the Orgasm shade is ideal for fair complexions as it adds a hint of colour and highlight, without looking too dark.
You can probably tell, I’m a huge fan of this range by NARS, and now I just need the lip gloss to complete my collection (I’ve heard on the grape vine there is a lipstick in the pipe line which I am so excited for). This set is exclusive to ASOS Beauty, and will set you back a mere £55. Fantastic value, when you consider the Multiple alone costs almost £30. I have a feeling the NARS Orgasm set will sell out fast though, so if you love this shade as much as I do be quick to bag yourself a bargain!
