My oh my, I am now officially a Liz Earle girl! On a mission to update my skincare routine, I made a bee line to the Liz Earle counter in John Lewis and my first visit certainly lived up to all the hype. I was treated to the most rejuvenating facial to demonstrate their products and I must admit, from the moment I smelt the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser I was hooked! Gemma, the gorgeously glowy assistant, also used Instant Boost Skin Tonic and Skin Repair Moisturiser to breathe a fresh lease of life into my face.
There was no question of me resisting a purchase here, and I opted for the hot cloth cleanser at £15.50 for 100ml (including two pure muslin cloths). Once I was home, I couldn’t wait to take my make up off and see if it felt as good in my humble bathroom as it did in the treatment chair. Getting it out of the cute little bag I got to thinking how lovely the packaging was – it even manages to look relaxing with cool, muted tones of blue that remind me of many a spa days spent pampering. It’s sleek appearance fits right in on my skin care shelf!
I am delighted to report that this really is heaven in a bottle! The cream is thick and luxurious, instantly hydrating and moisturising skin. The eucalyptus, rosemary and chamomile give it a deliciously aromatic scent that transports you straight into a salon from where ever you are, and the delightful tingly sensation that follows feels like a professional facial every time! Not only does the cleanser fully deliver on luxury, scent and down right yummy-ness, it also removed every scrap of make up from my face with ease. No scrubbing away at mascara here!
Without doubt, this is easily one of my best purchases of the year and it fully deserves it’s place next to my trusted Clinique 3 step as a skin care staple. It’s hard to believe Liz Earle is not quite 20 years old yet – many other brands have taken double the time to produce such essentials! Next on my wish list is the Superskin Concentrate … watch this space!
